Why a partner dance blog?
The purpose of this blog is to post our personal, in-depth reflections on many of the aspects and concepts directly and indirectly involved in partner dancing in order to ask ourselves, where necessary, the reasons behind what we’ve learned, accepted and taught over the years. Maybe we assumed that there was only one way to do things simply because that’s what they told us or implied, or because we didn’t think to question it. That’s why we also want to ask ourselves if there exist ways of doing it better or differently.
This blog is not intended to judge the ways of others nor impose our own; it is merely an attempt to analyze, understand and seek answers to the questions that both worry and drive us, and always in the spirit of the desire to continue learning.
Little by little, we will also explain in detail what motivated us to develop Balanced Dancing, how we got where we are now, and how we understand partner dancing and relationships in general, which affects us profoundly when we dance and express ourselves.
In these blog articles, we will talk about philosophy, math, and even physics. We will tell stories and laugh about certain topics that may seem unrelated, but which are always connected to partner dancing. Dancing is much more than a combination of steps—for us and for many of you currently reading this, it’s a way of life. Partner dancing is about sharing, relating to others, expressing ourselves, excitement and more—in a way, partner dancing is a road to happiness.
Shall we?
